duct of a mixture of mineral sub- stances known to be the best non-conduc- tore of heat as well as the mest indes- tructible; the Chemical affinity of which, converts the surfaces ofmaterials covered intoa Coating of Actual Slate—Proef against ire and Water. Thus the laws of nature are made to accomplish results, as surprising as they are useful, by rendering wooden fabricks as durable as Brick or Stone, and. less impervious to moisture, and consequently prevent- ing decay and destruction from corroding influences hitherto supposed unattainable.
