, llEREAS a Commission has been isucd, directed to us, under ‘\ and by virtue of an Act passed in the fourteenth year of the reign of Her present Majesty Queen Victoria, entitled “An Act to regulate the laying out and altering of Highways," and in the Acts in amendment thereof; whereby we are commanded to enquire what damage or advantage will accrue to those persons who are interested in the Land through which a certain new road is intended to be made, commencing at the southern termination of the present road through Bay Fortune Settlement,and terminat- ing at the shore at Howe Bay, and which road will run through or over the lands of James Dingwell and Charles Dingwcll.

Now we do hereby give Public Notice to all parties concerned, that we will commence the execution of the said Commission, by attending at the aforesaid place, on MONDAY, the 27th day of AUGUST next, at the hour of Eleven o’clock, in the forenoon of the same day, and will proceed along the proposed line of road and complete said Commission according to law.

HE Commissioner of Public Lands having under the authority of the Act 16th Victoria, Cap. 18, completed the purchase of those Townships, portions of Townships, and Islands, the property of Sir Edward Cunard, Baronet, and William Cunard, Esquire, being Townships Numbers 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, S, 1.1, 20, 21, ‘27, 32, 4.1, 45, 46, 48, 49, 55, 63, 64, (35, Fish Island, Savage Island, Kildare Island and Cascumpec Sand Island, hereby notifies all TENANTS and Occepmns or LAND, on the above properties, desirous of par- chasing their several locations, that, in accordance with the 16th Section of the above recited Act, he will shortly be prepared to receive the Deposit of the Purchase Money of their several hold- ings, upon producing their titles, or agreements for the same, of which due notice will be given. The said service required to be performed as follows, viz: The Packet shall leave Georgetown wharf for l’ictou, and Fiction for Georgetown,upon such days dur— ing the above named period as shall be lifted upon by thetlover- nmcnt,and shall be subject to such alteration in the days fixed for leaving Georgetown and Pictou as the Government shall at any time direct and require.

The Tender is required to name the age, tonnage, rig, and ac- Commodation of the Vessel tendered, and also the sum which the Tcndcrer will engage to perform the whole term of service for, and furnish also the names of two persons of known responsibility,who will become bound for the due performance of the Service. All freight and passage money to be the property of the owner of the vessel. The Tender is required to express on its cover: “ Tender for Georgetown and Pictou Packet Servicc.”
