But Miss Florence Ashtroeke was not a whit behind Mr. Tannenill in portraying the character ofthe young wife. The last scene where, by her woman’s wit and cunning she eecures the murderer, thus clearing herself and her husband of the cooreyy was a superb bit of acting, true to ife.
That the audience was in sympathy with the actors and thoroughly enjeyed the presentation, was evidenced by the rounds of hearty applause,and the five curtain ealls at the close of the second act were a safety valve allowing the excess of ex- citement te escape. The play will prob~ ably be greeted with large audiences dur ing its short run here.

Over Tue Banx.—Yesterday nine men from Charlottetown paid a visit to Mc- Nally’s Island, East River.
