Friday morning I again tra- velled to the heart of Washing- ton to visit the Smithsonian In- stitute. and the Natural History of Arts Building. There is a sign on the door of the Smithsonian Institute, that states. if you spend ten minutes at every ex- hibit, you will be there for ten Years. so as you might gather we did not see it all. but it was most interesting, and we even saw Lindberg's plane hanging from the ceiling. On Friday eve- ning I went to a baseball game between two local high school teams: then moved to the Mac- Curdys. We visited Welles Re- staurant. and I was surprised to find that there they sell every- thing from a ten cent cone to a thirty dollar ice cream sundae. As it rained Saturday, we went for a drive into Georgetown, the quaint section of Washington where most of the Ambassa- dors and senators live The shops and homes. among them Presi.
