Evidence Completed And Jury Addressed By Counsel Yester- day—Judge To Give ' Charge. '

The Phillips manslaughter case was expected to go to the jury this morning when Supreme Court ud- journed last evening. Evidence was concluded just before the noon re- ceos yesterday and when court resumed Mr. J. J. Johnston, K.C., summed up the case for the dc- fense and Attorney General Thane A. Campbell, K.C., for the Crown. His Lordship Mr. Justice Arseuault will charge the jury today when court meets at 10.30 a.m.

During the hearing, which open- ed 0n Monday. twenty-seven wit- ncises gave evidence, 16 for the Crown and 11 for the defense. i

A summary of evidence heardi yiestcrday follows. '

Cornelius J. Campbell, attomey' and barrister, told that on the Sunday‘ night of May l7 Lil‘. Phil- lips drove him home and the brakes on the car were "all right."
