England’s Throne.

The throne of England, so splendid when covered with silk velvet and gold, is in fact, only an “old oak chair,” over eight hundred years in use for the same purpose. Its existance has been traced back to the days of Edward. The wood is very bard and solid. The back and sides were formerly in various colors and the seat is made of rougo-looking sandstone 26 inches in length, 17 in breath and 19} in thickness, and in this stone lies the grand peculiarity of the chair. Numberless legends are told in connection with it, the truth probably being that it was originally taken from Ircland to Scotlandand served at the coronation of the early Scottish kings. -- Pall Mall Gacette.

EXPERIENCE.

The Rev. Z. P. Wilds, well-known city missionary in New York, and brother of the late eminent Judge Wilds, of the Massachusetts Supreme Court, writes as follows:

“73 KH. 54th 3t., New York, May 16, 1882, Messrs. J.C. AVER & Co., Gentlemen:

Last winter I was troubled with a most uncomfortable itching humor affecting more éspeciaily my limbs, which itched go intolerably at night, and burned so iutense- ly, that 1 eoul! scarcely bear any clothing over them.
