What’s Happening With Residence Life
The pins were flying at the Basilica Rec Centre bowling alley when the residence life commit- tee hit the lanes w:th a bowling tournament on Sat., Oct. 14th. Seven teams of residence stu- dents from Marian and Bernadine Halls bowled up a a storm that day (where were you Blanchard Hallers???)
With over a 200 point spread between first and second place, nobody was able to touch the “Untouchables” with Alan “The Storm” Ripley, Paul “Horseshoe” Madryga, and Terry “Killer” Trainor. In second place was “The Fourth Floor Fig Fritters” with Taryn “Bouncer” O’Brien, Angela “Bomber” Penderast, and
Keren “Striker” Norton. “The Screamers” came in third place with the dynamic trio of Kim “I can’t yell ’cause I have a cold” Wells, Heather “I yell for ya, Kim” Riehl, and Kevin “Boomer” Gallant (not the race- track dude). Last, but not least, was “The Half A — Bowlers” with James “The Juicer” Helmer, Brian “The Bruiser” Langille, and sonya “No knees” Beaton. The last place team won three lovely bowler’s cryin towels do- nated by the Basilica Rec Centre. A total of $22 was raised from this event for the PEI Catscan Fund.
The Residence Life Commit- tee raised an additional $23 for the Catscan by sellin the spoils of their apple pickin spree in Lower Montague on Sunday, Oct. 15th. Residence students from Bernar- dine and Blanchard Halls (where were you Marian Hallers??) went sight-seeing in the eastern part of our beautiful island (while some of us slept, right Lois?!) and had some fun picking apples at Han- eveld’s U-Pick Apple Orchard. Newton’s Law of Gravity was demonstrated to the students at the orchard. Annette Colbourne went so far as to climb an apple tree and drop apples on her roo-

completed the trio, tossing a career-high 216. Together, the threé outdistanced the competi- tion with a three-game total of 1605 ‘points. Many thanks to all who participated Saturday after- noon.
Thanks should also be given to all those who participated in the winning team’s Truly Awesome victory party Saturday night. Does anybody know what happens when you cross a 26 oz. bottle of refreshments with some- one who is allergic to it? Just ask ”Tigger” Deas, who finally stopped bouncing at about 2:00 AM. (I wonder if he’s found the
other half of his eyebrow yet....) Mention should be made that a certain senior was rumoured to have been over (Way over!) the weather (and the legal limit) Sat- urday night. Considering the manner in which he had been dancing, some residents found it suprising that nobody had stuffed money in his shorts! We would also like to send out regards to Terry T., who seems to be short a few leg hairs; we understand that he’ll soon be scouting Berna- dine Hall for some additions to his wardrobe. We are quite sure, however, that the next time he tries to kick a habit, he won’t be laying bets on it!
