is now open and operating on a partial basis.

The actual construction began during March Break of last year, using materials left over from Sun renovations and those found through diligent scrounging around the _ campus. A lot of time was sacrificed andrnuch effort was contributed towards the building of the darkroom. Various jobs included: building tables, sewing and hanging special curtains,installing sinks and a film drying cabinet.

be done is the plumbing and electrical hook-ups. There is a problem with plumbing,as mentioned

by Jean McCabe, of the maintenance department, in trying to find a suitable means for the waste run-off to comply with plumbing regulations' As the maintenance depart- ment is very busy, it is hopeful that they will be able to solve the problem in the near future.

The new darkroom has a double door system made of darkened curtains so people entering and leaving will not interfere with the development of prints. Up to five enlangers will be able to be in use in the new area.

Fellowshi' $5,000.00 'lhe fellowship will be open to graduates of any recognized University who possess the Honours B.A. degree or its equivalent and who intend to work for a higher degree in the field of international studies. 'Ihe fellowship will be tenable in the departments of Political Studies, Economics, 'or History. Applicatims for the year 1979—80 should be made by letter addressed to the Awards Office. 'Ihe University of Manitoba, details of the candidate's academic record should accompany his letter of applicatim. 'Ihe letter should also include information on the following points:

(a) Age

(b) Place of birth

(c) Citizenship, or status of visa (student landed immigrant)

(d) Marital status

(e) Any previous experience 1

other than academic.

(f) Field of study candidate would be most interested in, and why
