Deess ResearsaL.— Last Saturday night the dress rehearsal of the Boys’ Brigade Concert was given. This is uns doubtedly one of the better class of con. certs. The Brigade, dreseed in Highland uniform, look well and preform their movements perfectly. The sword drill and rifle drill will be surprising featuree and show you what our boys can do. At- tend and see the Highlanders rally around the lion flag of Scotlaud and sing ——, The tableaux are original in many respects ; aud the one representing the Island is one of the most excellent ever On vur stage. Songs and recitations aud music are not lacking. The bagpipes will be there. Who does not love to bear ‘The Pipes of Lucknow?” It will be given touight. This ia an entertainment that should not be missed and one that will not fall shagt of high expectations.

A Wonperrvt Fire Exrixevisuer.— In the presence of the Chief and other members of the Fire Department and hundreds of spectators, Mr. E. B. Dufort, agent for Prince Edward Island for “Fyricide” (Death to Fire) Extinguisher, gave a successful test. A large box 7 feet high filled with inflaromable material, con- sisting of coal oi] tar and pine wood was set ou fire and burned fiercely. The flames chor into the air and it seemed an impossibility to extinguish the fire in any way before the box wasconsumed. Oue throw of the powerful power extinguished the fire as completely and positively as one could blow outa match. After the test hun- dreds standing about the Market Square, marvelled at the rapid action of “ Fyri- cide ” in putting out the fire.
