ANew Derarrree—A clergyman in Flushing, Mich., according to an exchange, has established a nursery annex to Nis church, designed to supply a long. felt want by affording mothers’a safe storage for their infants or young children during the time of the church service. The clergyman, when he visited the absehtees of his flock, found many mothers ‘who confessed that they were unable to attend the meetings on account ef the children too young to be left at home alone or too vivacious or “eryey” to be brought into the congregation. The reverend gentle- man meditated on the matter, and the nursery annex is the result. The mother now brings her child to church, there hands it over to an attendant, duly qualifi- ed, who attends it until the time of prayer and praise is done. There are several secular nurseries in. New York where the mother may leave the child, but there | is no church as yet whch has tried the M.chigan plan.
