An Act for appropriating certain monies there-I in mentioned for the service of the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and

sixty-eight.

‘ \Ve Her Majesty’s dutiful and loyal subjects, the House of Assembly of Prince Edward Is- land, tOWardS appropriating the several sup- plies raised for the exigencies of Her Majesty’s Government, do humbly beseech, that it may be enacted: And be it therefore enacted, by the Lieutenant Governor, Council and Assem- bly, that by and out of such monies, as from

time to time shall be, and remain in the public '

Treasury of this Island, There shall be allow- ed, and paid for the services herein mentioned the~ several sums following :—

A sum of five thousand pounds for the ser- vice of Roads. Bridges and Wharfs, for the present year, the Same to be appropriated to each County in the following manner :

Queen’s County, including Charlottetown and Royalty, one thousand seven hundred and forty-two pounds.

Prince County, one thousand four hundred and twenty—nine pounds.

King’s County, one ehousan and twenty-nine pounds.

Opening new roads under Road Compen- sation Act, one hundred pounds.

Contingent expenses of Roads, Bridges and Wliarfs, to be equally divided between the three Counties, three hundred pounds.

And a sum of five hundred pounds for the paupers of the. three Counties, in the following

proportions :

For Queen's County, two hundred pounds.

For King’s County, one hundred and fifty pounds. '

For Prince County, one hundred and fifty pounds. ' ‘

And a sum of six hundred and fifty pounds for Indians and casual relief to poor persons, in the following proportions:

Indians, one hundred pounds.

Small grants. four hundred pounds.

Casual paupers, one hundred and fifty pounds.

Summer and winter mails, a sum sufficient.

Contingent expenses of the House of As- sembly, a sum suffiCient.

Board of Health, two hundred pounds. Inland mails, a sum sufficient.

Public postage, one hundred pounds. Auditors of Public Accounts, one hundred pounds.

Issuing Treasury Notes, twenty pounds.

And a sum of seven thousand six hundred and seventeen pounds, to pay the salaries to Public Officers, as provided for by Statute.

lrown Prosecutions, Officers’ fees for mis- cellaneous services and for jurors, four hundred and fifty grounds.

Crier of the Supreme Court. twenty pounds.

Coroners’ Inquests, one hundred pounds.

Expenses of three County Jails, nine hundred pounds. ‘

Medical attendants of three County Jails, twenty-two pounds. '

Keepers of three County Jails, one hundred and twenty pounds.

Matron of Queen’s County Jail, fifteen pounds.

Matrons of King's and Prince County Jails, five pounds each.
