The follow got his drink, but refused to pay for it. and so did his endorser, as he had \promised that he would.

A Scotch barber, who was much given to dram drinking, was one day shaving a customer, who finding the fumes of whiskey too much for him in the job lost his patience, and exclaimed: “That horricd drink I" The barber replied emphatically: “ Ay, ay, air it does mak' the face awful'l tender."
