ment has sold between 7.000.000 and 8.000.000 pounds of its surplus butter to a Dutch importer torre- sale in East Germlny. it was learned here Thursday.

An agriculture denqr-tlngut offi- cial said a sale has been completed and the butter now is being loaded aboard ship in Montreal. He said the exact amount to be shipped will depend on the refrigerated storage capacity of vessels leaving Montreal for The Netherlands.

The contract price. the official said. is in the neighborhood of 37 cents a pound, 21 cents less than the price paid for the surplus hut- ter by the agricultural prices sup- port board.
