The results of the U.P.E.1.S.U. elections held on March 13 and 14 are as follows:

possible 1712. The percentage to

active voters of eligible voters 35.6%. This percentage is down from last year’s figures when 49% of eligible voters cast their ballots. There were 59 spoiled ballots.

At last Sunday’s Student Coun- cil meeting, Bill Sinnot, Chief Returning Officer brought forth his recommendations concerning S.U, elections. He was disap- pointed in the voter turnout, but directed most of his recommenda- tions towards a more efficient

ballot counting procedure. He felt the made the counting process too long, with too many ballots to count, and suggested: that this could be re- medied by going back to acclaima- tions for those who have no com- petition for their office.

Attention then turned to the poor voter turnout. Some Coun- cillors felt that the SU should perhaps move the voting pool around campus so that more stu- dents could have access to vote. No decisions were reached on this topic. +
