The annual meeting of the Souris Parish Council. Catholic ‘ Women's League was held in St. Mary's hall on Sunday A pril 21st with an attendance of 32 members. A short regular meet— ing was held prior to the annual meeting. The President. Mrs. Rena Boylan presided, opening the meeting with prayer. The Secretary. Mrs. John J. MacDon- ald read the minutes of the March meeting and correspon- dence consisting of a directive letter from the Provincial pre-

Several of the members are leaders with the Girl Guides and Brownies. A total of 20 mem- bers attended the CWL confer- ence held at St. Georges. The Council is presently sponsoring. a Public Speaking contest at St. Mary‘s convent. An event of the year was h aving Reverend Charles Gallant attend a meet- ing to give an account of his trip to Europe and The Holy Lands. Appreciation was ex- pressed to Rev. J. J. Dunp who attended all meetings and gave special guidance to the members in their work for “God and Canada."
