The Mourning Creditors Meet.

There is great excitement here over the sudden departure of Herbert Lee, a well known barrister,highly connected, who had been trusted with the management of a great deal of preperty. Among the estates in the hands of the departed are the Drury estate, which is said to be the largest loser, and the Botsford and Tate and Simmonds estates, all large properties. Lee stood high in social and professional circles. He was a lay reader in the Episcopal Church, and has been one of the exsminers for de- grees in the University of New Brunswick. lt is estimated that the debts and deficien- cies smount to sixty thousand dollars. Last night the Sheriff's Deputy drove out on the road where the missing man was supposed to have driven last, but it was learned later that he had gone west by the C. P. R. train. He is now known to be in Boston. The case attracts wide attention, not only because the estates invulved concern well known citizens, but because of the high reputation and great respectability of Lee. There are a great number of small credit- ors, and a meeting of counsel for the parties interested will decide to-morrow what is to be done.

A FATAL BOLT.
BOY KILLED BY LIGHTNING. HOUSE SHATTERED!
The lightning of Thursday morning struck the houre vf Angus R Campbell, of Glenfanning, King’s County, and running down its wails, ivstant'y killed Emanuel Campbell, a boy of 15 years of age, who was sitting near a window. All the family had been awakened by the thunder and were sitting up with alight on the kitchen table when the catastrophe tovk place. Mr. Campbell was sitting near the table, and his wife was near her son at the window, and two or three other young children were crouching beside her When the bolt
struck Mr. Campbell was thrown into «a cupboard near him and his wife was paralysed by the
shock and had part of her dress torn from her and for some time she could not speak. Mr. Campbell says that he has no recollection of what took place from the time the crash took place until he stumbled to his feet. Lighting a lantern—the lamp being broken —he first saw his son’s body with the shirt on fire, and he at once pro- ceeded to extinguish the flames. In doing so bis hands were badly burned. Laying his son’s body on the bed that stood in one corner of the room, he proceeded to revive his wife, which he suceveded in doing after some time. ‘this fearful accident has awakened widespread sympathy for the poor father and mother who, in a moment, as it were, saw their home shattered and their son lying dead. Awful and sudden ag ig the affliction which Mr. and Mrs. Mc- D ald are culled upon to bear, they have phe satisfaction of knowing that_ when death came to their son it found him at hisdevctions. “* They that sow in tears shall reap 'u jy.” The western end of the house was completely shattered and every window pane was broken. We have not heard of any other fatalities in King’s County. $$
