‘Some remarks have been made during lhe course of this debate, stressing the desirability of hav- ing the road work dons as early as possible in the Spring. This is a suggestion with which l am in thorough accord. and it is a prac- tics consistently pursued by this Department. Early in April last year instructions were sent out to our road makers in the country and an appeal was made to them to cooperate in getting the road work done at the earliest possible dale. l am glad to be able to stats that there was an almost gan- eral response to that appeal.
