A half century of devoted work to the teaching profession on the Island received its rightful honor yesterday when members of the faculty of Prince of Wales College and other prominent persons in the field of education gathered at P'WC to pay homage to William Angus MacPhee.

Mr. MacP‘hee, who began his teaching career in 1908 in the little school house at Glen Martin, prior to his official retirement earlier this year, left an undying mark during his more than 50 years that he was connected with education in the province.

As Dr. Frank MacKinnon, prin- cipal of PWC, said”. . . .there’s not a teacher who hasn‘t come under in some way, or felt in some way, his influence."
