O_p Bank Brits AGain.—A Hinckle was arrested at Little Rock, Ark., last week on a charge of passing counterfeit 5 Hinckle lost a leg in the war, and now wears a wooden leg. the wooden member disclosed the fact that he had arranged the inside of it as a receptacle for the “queer.” It was stuffed with bilis, some of which were genuine. There were a namber of bills on the defunct B.nk of Prince Faward Isiand of the denomination of $10 eu which passed readily through the Little Rock Bank.

YounG HenpEerson DiscHARGED.—The mat- ter of the examination of George Henderson, charged with feioniously kiliing Eva 8. Gay, was resumed this morning before J. T. Mel- lish, Esq., J. P. The accused appeared and also his sureties. His counsel, Mr. Hodgson, ( C., and the Attorney General, were also present. Ne farther evidence was offered. Mr. Mellish said that after the most careful consideration of all the evidence, and of the law bearing on the case, he had arrived at the conclusion that the prisoner should be dis- charged. He, at the same time, suitably ad- monished young Henderson, and saggested that the iegislature lose no time in passing a law restricting the use of firearms in this province.

The firing to-day at Bisley was in the Daily Graphic match. In the all comers’ and grand aggregate series, the prizes were a Silver cup, value 52 guinea, ten hand- somely bound volumes, containing original pen and ink drawings by artists of the Daily Graphic, value 21 guineas, one prize of £10, eighteen prizes of £5, and forty prizes of £3. Position standing, distance 200 yards, seven shots. A False Rumor. Vicroria, B. C., July 16. The statements that two Canadian vessels which recently sailed out of Maple Bay were armed witu euns and would re- sist the American Revenue Cutters is said to be false. Messrs. Hall & Marwen own seven of the thirty vessels running out of Victoria, say the reports were sent out to prejudice the Foreign office in London against the cause of the sealers.
