The Saturday Review, in its summary of the situation, says: ‘“‘The constituencies cvuld not have given a much wore decided

Probably many electors are tired of the Governinent mere- ly because it has beeen six years in oftice ; but there are some things the. elections have placed beyond contest. They shew that the publicans have not exercised the influence it was expected they would ; that the Liberals were not divided by crotchets ; that their party organization is much im- proved ; and that the moderates have, asa rule neither abstained nor gone over, but have voted with their party.”
