Daniel Matheson. for the past five years minister of Trinity United Church, Summen side informed his Session on Monday night that he had re- ceived a call from Danforth Church, Toronto and that he was accepting the call. subject to the approval of the courts of the church. MacDougall was received at the regular meeting of the Summer- side Town Council. held last even- ing in the library and presided over by His Worship Mayor W. A. Currie. with all councillors pres- ent. The resignation. which was submitted with regret for reasons of health, became effective at the conclusion of last night's meeting although Coun. MacDougall stated during the meeting that if another meeting could be arranged for next week to give fair consideration to going on Daylight Saving Time in Sum:nersI(' he would withhold his resignation until after that time. Four councillors, Clark. Lldstone, Jenkins and Cannon, supported him on this issue, but Mayor Cur- rle, who also said he favored Day- light Time, stated that he felt noth- ing could be done this year and preferred not to have the matter brought up in council at present. He said nothing could be done with out flouting the law and the only way to get around it is through a change of store hours,which he added, is a matter for the retail merchants committee.
