COLONIAL INTELLIGENCE.

A den of thieves, and large quantities of stolen goods have been discovered in the town of Wood- stock, N. B. One of the papers says that three men and some boys have been arrested, end it is belleved others are concerned. Their operations have extended over a period of two or three years, but up to the present tune they have eluded detection. ‘They were found to bave keys io their pussession which would open nearly every sture

We understand from Mr. B. Wier, agent for the Grand Trunk Railway, that the latter have made aa agreement with the Portland Steam Packet Company for ten yeare, from 15th February last, to keep pte communication between Portland and Halifax. The eminently reliable position this Cowpany holds r-nders this arrange- ment one which will be carried out with efficiency and punctuality.
