Orrawa, Sept. 2—The defachment of northwest mounted police which is to try the overland route to the Klondike, leave Edmonton to-morrow. It consists of one inspector and five men. The men wil! travel on horseback, supplies being taken on pack horses, aud as this is the first attempt to reach the Yukon country in this manner the experience of the detach-- ment will be of great service to perso1s reeking information about this route.
