Wisdom of the Crow. en A British naturalist who is much in | terested in biids says that the crow is | the wisest ot all the feathered animals. | Recently he spent some time in the mountains of Wales, where a company of Doys was camping out. One day he jound a flock of crows gathered round the body of a sheep tnat had died, and which lay near a barn. ‘hey flew away as he apprvachec, so he hid him- self in tae barn and waned, but they weu'd not come back. Then he wert outand waked on up the mountain, and they all settled down again to the feast. That afternoon he took four boys from the camp with him, and ihe five marched into the little barn and waited. No crows came back {wo of the boys went out. Stil m crows. Then the other two went out and only the naturalist remained. But the old sentinel crow had evi- dently eounted them as they went in. and he knew they had not all come! out.
