Meeting of Presbytery.

Tne Presbytery of P. E. L., met in Zion Church, on 21st inst. There were present, Rev’s. Dr. Murray, James Allen, Kenneth McLennan, M. A., Wm. Scott, J. M. Me- Leod, Neil McKay, John G. Cameron, W. Grant, Moderator, 8. C. Gune, Charles Frazer, Wm. P. Archibald, E. &. Bayne, M. A., Wm. A. Mason, B A., and John McLeod, Minister, and Rev. Donald Me- Neill, Hon. Col. Gaay, and Wm. Mutch, Esq., ruling elders.

A cordial an? harmonious call to Rev. M. R. Paradis, from\the congregation of Tignish, Montrose, and Bloomfield, was sustained, and ordered to be forwarded to Mr. Paradis.

Rev. Wm. P. Archibald was appointed to preach and moderate in a call in Clifton, on Tuesday 3rd January, «et 2 o’clock, p. m.,and Rev. John McLeod, of Strathalbyn to preach in same place on Sabbath, 25th inst., at 7 p. m., and give notice of said inoderation,

The following supply was appointed for the month of January, viz: for George- town, Rev. Mr. Cairns, first Sabbath at Montague Bridge at 11 a. m., at Cardigan at 3 p. m,, and in Georgetown at 7 p. m.; Rev. Mr. Scott on second Sabbath at Georgetown at ll a. m., Cardigan at 3 p. m., and at Montague Bridge at 6.30 p. m.; Mr. Scott will also preach on Monday evening, the 9th Jan., in Lower Montague, at 6 o'clock; Rev. Mr. Allen, on the 4th and 5¢h Sabbaths, for Richinond Bay; Rev. Mr. Mason on 3rd Sabbath at Lot 11 at 11 a. m., at Tyne Valley at 2 30 and at Egmont Bay at 6.30 p. m.; and on Sth Sa! bath Rev. J. G Cameron a Lot 16 at ll a. m., Lot l4at3 p. m., and at Tyne Valley at 7 p. m.; for Dundas Rev. Messrs. Cameron and Gunn each to give a Sabbath evening service; before the 4th Sabbath on which day Rev. Wm. Scott will preach morning and afternocn in the congregation. Rev. Mr. Munro was appointed to preach one Sabbath at Woodville and Little Sands, and Messrs. Fraser and Carr each to give a Sabbath evening service to the congrega- tion of Bloomfield, Montrose and Tignish during the seme month.

Rey. Mesers. Carr, Archibald and Gunn, were appointed tu co-operate with Rev. K. McLennan in prosecuting the scheme for endewment of the Theological Hall, and pastors and elders in the several congre- gations are urged to give to this scheme their cordial sympathy and support.

The following Committees were appoint- ed to hold week day Evangelistic meetings, viz.: in Richmond Bay congregation Rev. Messrs. McKay, Carr, Fraser and MeMil- lan, McKay convener; in Woodville, Little Sands and Caledonia, Rev. Messrs. Stewart, Bayne and McLeod, of Strathal- byn, Mr. Stewart convener.

Rev. Messrs. McKay, McMillan -and Archibald were appointed to receive re- turns from Sabbath Schools and t+ prepare areport to be submitted to Presbytery, Mr. McKay convener.

Congregations which have not forwarded contributions to Rev. Dr. Reii for the General Assembly Fund, are requested to do so at their earliest convenience,

Two seafaring men fought on Sunday at noon on board a schooner lying in the stream, and then came on the Government wharf to finish. But one was too much to stand the other to it. So peace was proclaimed. One map had a bad cut under his eye. Rumor says they came from Point Prim; but they did not look at all prim on this occasion.
