Suppen Deato.—On Saturday evening last a man named Henderson slipped and fell on the sidewalk on Richmond Street, near Robertson's barber shop. When he got up he found that his leg was very psin- ful near the hip joint, and he thought it was broken. He was removed to his home as scon as possible. After his arrivel there the pain in his leg became more intense. Dr. Warburton was ca‘led in between eight and nine o’elock the same evening. The Doctor did not find anything seriously the matter with the leg, and left the house. Later on Henderson died. He was, we are informed, in very delicate health for sume time before the accident.

The government have ordered the closing of all inns. Twelve thousand Nottinghamshire miners have joined the strikers for an advance of

Physicians are learn- } ing to fear, (much more than the epidemic! itself), the serious and fatal extension | of the inflammation downward to the throat and bronchial tubes, causing croupous and catarrhal pneumonio, true sequences of the malady; which terminate in death or produce severe laryngitis bronchitis, asthma and a form of catarrh which contributes largely to chronic disease of the ear, nose and throat, causing loss of hearing smell and taste. Those physicians who have been most successful | with the epidemic say the surest treatment has been with tonic and anodyne remedies. The me licines most relied upon have been Quinine, Antipyrine, Salicilate of Soda, John- son's Anodyne Liniment, ete. A prominert: Boston paper announced in January last th. t more persons had successfully used the last named medicine than all the others combined.
