Tue meeting whieh took place at Pisquid last Saturday was a splendid one for the Government. It was addressed by Messrs. Ferguson and Blake for the Government, and Messrs. D. C. Martin, McCourt, (of the Patriot), and Daniel F. McDonald, of Pisquid, on behalf of the Opposition. When Mr. McDonald sat down, he was followed by Mr. M. Peat, to be of service ag manure, must first be rendered soluble. This will be accoluplished by the action of an alkali, Wither of the following methods may be adopted to convert peat into manure :—
| Ist, add 2 per cent. of soda; 2nd, add 3 per
cent. of potash; 3rd, mix with 4 its amount animal manure. The last is most easily accomplished by carting the dried peat into the cattle yards and stables where the waste ammonia—especially that from the liquid— will make the peat equally valuable with the stable manure itself. By this means the} farmer may treble his yearly supply of manure, and so add indefinitely to the pr « duction of bis farm,

Fatal Railway Accident.
Cosnocron, Ohiv, Feb. 19. On the Panhandle road, at Trenton, this morning, a collision oceurred by a misplaced aswitch. Twenty-one cars were deniolished aud three men killed and several probably fatally injured.
