With the president. Mrs. Paige Nunn presiding. the devotional part of the meeting was opened by singing "The Morning Light Is Breaking." Scripture reading by Mrs. Irving Laird and prayer led by Miss M. O. Neill was followed by the Lord's Prayer in unison.

The business part consisted of the minutes of last meeting read by the secretary, Mrs. Preston Neill. Roll call was answered by fourteen members passing in their mite boxes and quoting an appro- priate verse of Scripture. The

-The monthly meeting of the Cape Traverse Auxiliary of the women's Missionary Society was held at the home of Mrs. Blanche Harper of North Carleton on Thurs- day afternoon. November ltith with a large attendance.

The theme for the meeting was "The Book of Life" - The Bible" Hymn 185, ”Let Everlasting Glories Crown”, was sung. The November meeting of the Clyde River Presbyterian W. M. S. was held at the home of Mira. John Beer.

The president, Mrs. James Beer. presided. Call to worship was taken from the 20th Psalm, fol- lowed with prayer by the presi- dent. Theme for the evening was "The Lord will give strength unto His people: The Lord will bless His people with peace." The opening Psalm selection was 106 and scrip- ture reading was taken from the 29th Psalm. with each one reading a portion. Prayer was offered by Mrs. Nicholson and hymn 321 then sung. Roll call was answered with a verse of scripture by 18 members. Readings were given by Mrs. Nic-

-The monthly meeting of the Auxiliary of the Women's Mis- sionary Society of the Cape Trav- erse United Church was held at the home of Mrs. John Haslam of Carleton with president Mrs. Hed- ley Lowther in the chair.

The theme, "The Season of Birth and Re-Birth" was carried out. A poem was read by the president. Hymn 51, "Oi Little Town of Bethlehem" was sung, followed by prayer by Mrs. Lowther. Scripture readings St. Luke 2, 8-20 were read by Mrs. Sawler, and St. Matthew 2, 1-12 by Mrs. Vernon Muttart. Hymn 50. "As With Gladness Men of Old" was then sung and scrip- ture Phlllpplans 2, 5-11 was read by Miss Nora Wright. A season of prayer was then indulged in, lead by Mrs. Lowther and joined in unison by the members. Hymn 68, "Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne" was-sung, followed by the offering which was dedicated by singing ”Chrlstians Lo, the Star Appeareth.”

The business period then opened with minutes and roll call by the secretary, Mrs. Boyd Lowther. Roll call is to be answered next month with the word "New". Correspond- ence was then read. Sick calls and cards sent were taken by Mrs. Haslam in absence of Mrs. Hedley Muttart.

A report of the nominating com- mittee was then brought in by Mrs. Ralph Mccaull, the chair- man, and revealed the same slate of officers for the ensuing year with one exception, that Mrs. Na- than Bell is to he in charge of papers and cards being sent to Trinidad instead of Mrs. Morley Muttart.

A letter was then read by Mrs Allison Harper regarding prayers for a special missionary which is being suggested. Miss Margaret McHaattie is being added to the list.

The next meeting is to be held at the home of Mrs. Hedley Low- ther on January 6. A letter was then read by Mrs. Ralph McCaull regarding an appeal for funds for the Maritime Home for Girls in Truro which is lnter-denomina- tional, and It was decided to pass the letter on to the president of the Church of Scotland Ladles' Aid for their support. A bill of s2.14 was ordered paid for post- age for cards and papers sent to Trinidad.

Hymn 602, "We Would See Jesus" was then sung, after which the Benediction was pronounced and lunch served by hostess and committee.

The annual meeting of the Cav- lendlsh Auxiliary of the W. M. S. was held at the home of Mrs. Ern- est MacNeill on Wednesday even- ing, December loth.

With the president in the chair, the meeting was opened by the Lords Prayer in unison. Minutes of the November meeting were read and adopted.

Ten members and four visitors responded touroll call by repeat- ing a Scripture verse beginning with "D". A letter was read from Mrs. John Scott, Prcsbyterial Christian Stewardship secretary, allocating a missionary for special prayer, the one for this society being Mr. Lachian MacLean.

The treasurer reported that the allocation had been met and ex- ceeded and the balance due the Cavendish section for the United Church Training School had also been attained. The Community Friendship secretary reported 37 home calls, nine hospital calls, and 18 cards sent. The supply sec- retary reported that a box was ready to be sent to the port work- or in Halifax.

The January meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Reginald Simpson when Mrs. Alvah Mac- Ncill wlllibe devotional leader. ALBERTON W. M. S.

-Fifteen members of the Alber- ton Auxiliary of the W.M.S. met for their Christmas meeting in the United Church Hall on Tuesday afternoon. December 9th. Garlands of evergreens, clustersof red ber- ries and candles formed a fitting background for the Christmas meeting. '

The president, Mrs. A. C. Green, conducted the business meeting which opened with a call to wor- ship and a short prayer.

The report of the nominating committee was given by Mrs. Hun- ter Weeks and it was moved by Mrs. Heber Hardy, seconded by Mrs. L. B. Leard and carried, that this report be adopted as read.

The Christmas worship service on the theme: "Christmas, the Season of Birth and Re-Birth". was led by Mrs. Fred Leard, as- sisted by Mrs. Charles Johnston. Mrs. A. R. Wallis. Mrs. Heber Hardy and Mrs. George Ramsay.

As the Christmas story was told in scripture and song it was ap- plied to the present day lives of all who shared in the sevlce in the hope that those who knelt at this time at the manger of the Christ Child would return to their homes, praising God, as the shep- herds did: travelling in new paths, as the Wise Men did: departing in peace as Simon did; finding through Christ "the peace of God which passeth all understanding."

The hymn "We Would See Jesus" and the benediction brought the meeting to a close.

' During the business period which followed the supply secretary, Mrs. A. Rogers reported three boxes of mission goods had been sent to Toronto for Korea. Mrs. Louis Cairns was appointed to take charge of the Memorial Fund for departed members. No reports of secretaries were given as they are not complete.

The election of officers for next year took place with Mrs. R. L. Cairns in the chair, after which Mrs. Cairns led in prayer and "Blest Be The Tie That Binds" was sung. . Mrs. R. A. Profitt is to have charge of the Africa program for next meeting. The roll call is to be a New Year thought.

--The Darnley and Sea View Auxiliary of the W.M.S. met at the home of Mrs. Morley Crozier on December 8th for the Christ- mas meeting.

The devotional part was taken from the Missionary Monthly, the leader being Mrs. Crozier assisted by Mrs. Robert Cousins. The fol- lowing read portions of Scripture: Mrs. Jas. Hickey, Mrs. Fulton Simmons. Mrs. Lloyd Adams, and Mrs. A. MacKay. Several Christ- mas carols were sung. The Christ- mas offering was taken and dedi- cated.

call with a verse containing the word "Bethlehem". Minutes of the last meeting and last annual
