Yesterday, being st. John’s Day was celebrated with the usual Masonic honors by the members of St. Jubn’s Lodge in this city In the morning they marched im procession to St. Paul's Church,where their worthy brother, the Reveread Archdeacon Read, preached au able and eloquent sermon appropriate to the, oceasivn. Brother Earle, assisted in the sing- iag by the ladies of the choir, as the audience was retiring at the close of the services, played a March dedicated to St. Juiin’s Lodge. Joined by the Archdeacon the pro- easmion bow reformed, and marched down Prince Street, through Water Street and up Queen Street to St. John’s Hall, which was then dedicated im presence of a large number} of Lady visitors, the preacher of the day) acting as chaplain The officers wearing their collars and jewels, and the members of the Lodge ia Masunic regalia, turned out in good force aud presented a highly creditable appearance. The weather was everything that could be desired tur such a demonstrat: on. Atex. p. m., the brethren assembled at the Lodge Keum, for the purpose of installing! officers fur the ensuing year.
