Item Creates Interest ’

NEWSPAPER READERS who happened to be perusing thro Wednesday arfteinoon's Patr‘ot may have read the following short article “Walter John (Nig) BI‘CIlnf‘m‘all. former hockey player with St. Louis of the American League and a number of Senior teams in Ontario. died Saturday in hospital".

Most of the younger generation would pay very little attent- ion to this, bit of news but to hockey fans of the Maritime Big Four in the ‘30s the item would revive old memories.

In 1934 Charlottetown Abbics imported intact a forward line to bolster their Big Four edition for the 1934-35 season aiid fans were convtilccd that with the addition of that line the Abbles were sure winners of the Allan Cup.

's line were Walter John ‘Nig' Brenncmait at cen- tre. Jotlre Dcsilcts oti right wing and Ray Gctlilfc on left wing. They were nicknamed the Stratford Kid Line as that. is where they originated from and they had been playing as a line for some time. They were also just out of junior hockey.

From the :irsl time we hit the Island we've been hearing stories (II this ‘crril‘ic‘ kid line. Unfortunately this was before our time bill we‘ve ol'tcti wished that we could have been around to see these three youngsters perform. L
