HOLLOWAY’S OINTMENT. |

Bad Legs, Bad Breasts, Sores and Ulcers- All description of Sores are remediable by the proper and diligent | use of this inestimable preparatiin. To attempt to cure bad legs by plastering the edges of the wound together is a folly; for should the skin unite, a boggy diseased condition remains underneath to break out with tenfold fury in a few days. The only rational and successful treat- | ment, a3 indicated by nature, is to reduce the inflammatior in and about | the wound, and to soothe the neighbouring parts by rubbing in plenty of | the Ointment as salt is forced into meat. This will cause the malignant humours to be drained off from the hard, swollen and discoloured parts round about the wound, sore or ulcer, and when these humours are re- woved tbe wounds themselves will suon beal; warm bread and water poultices applied over the affected parts, after the Ointment has been well rubbed in, will soothe and soften the same, and greatly assist the cure. There is a descrip ion of ulcer, sore, and swelling which need not be named here, attendant upon the follies of youth, and for which this Ointment is urgently recommended as a sovereign remedy. In curing such poisonous sores it never fuils to restore the system to a healthy state if the Pills be taken according to the printed instructions. Diptheria, Uleerated Sore Throat, and Scarletand | other Fevers. | Any of the above diseases may be cured by well rubbing the Ointment | | three times a day into the chest, throat and neck of the patient; it will soon penetrate, and give immediate relief, Medicine taken by the mouth must operate upon the whole system ere its influence can be felt in any | local part, whereas the Ointment will do its work at once. Whoever | | tries the unguent in the above manner for the diseases named, or any | similar disorders affecting the chest and throat, wiil find themselves re- | lieved as by a charm. All sufferers from these complaints should en- velope the throat at bed time in a large bread and water poultice after | the Ointment bas been well rubbed in; and if the soles of the feet are | likewise rubbed with the Ointment every night, it will greatly assist the cure of the throat and chest. To allay the fever and lessen inflamma- ion, eight or ten Pills shouid be taken night and morning The Ointment will produce perspiration, the grand essential in all cases of fevers, sore throats, or where there migut be an oppression of the chest either from asthma or other causes.

Piles, Fistulas, Strictures-

The above class of complaints is surely removed by nightly fermenting the parts with warm Water, and then by effectually rubbing in the Oint- meut. Persons suffering from these direful complaints sk wuld lose not a | moment in arresting their progress. It should be understood that it is not sufficient merely to smear the Ointioent on the affected parts, but | | it must be well rabbed in for scme cousiderable time two or three times | |a day, that it may be taken into the system, whence it will remove any | | bidden sore or wound as effectually as though palpable to the eye

Tuere again bread and water poultices, after the rubbing in of the Oint- went, will do great service. This is the only eure treatwent for females, | cases of cancer in the stomach, or where there may be a general bearing | down.

Imprudencies of Youth;---Sores and Ulcers.

Blotches, as aiso swellings, can with certainty be radically cured if | the Ointwwont be used freely, and the Pills be taken night and morning | as recommended iu the printed instructions. When treated in any other | way they only dry up in one place to break out in another; whereas | this Olutwent will rewove the humour irom the system, and leave the | | patient a vigorous and healthy being. It will require time with the | | use of the Pills to ensure a lasting eure.

| Dropsical Swellings, Paralysis and Stiff Joints.

Although the above complaints differ widely in their origin and na- ture, yet they all require local treatuwent. Many of the worst cases of | such diseases will yield, in a comparatively short space of time, when | this Ointment is diligently rubbed into the parts alfected, even after | every other means bavd failed. In all serious waladies the Pills should be taken according tu the printed directions accompanying each box.

Reliable Testimony. We call the attention of the reader to the following letter from President Smith, of Wesleyan University:

MIDDLETOWN, Conn., Feb. 28, 1859.

SetTu W. FowLe & Co, — Gentlemen: —I first made use of the Oxygenated Bitters some seven or eight years since. Having suffered for twenty years from a form of dyspepsia, which wae attended with a nervous headache, on an average of not less than one day in a week, [ was induced, by the unpretending rec- ommendation of Dr. Green, “to try one bottle, and if no benefit was received to discontinue the use.”

‘The use of one bottle warranted a further trial, to the extent of some three or four, with a careful observance of the accompanying directions. The result was, an almost entire relief from the usual dyspeptic symptoms and their depressing, painful consequences. I believe these Bitters produced an entire change in the habits of my system, and upon the active energies of the digestive organs. I now deem myself as exempt from Dyspepsia as most persons. These Bitters have also been of ser- vice to other members of my family.

Its effects commence by deposition from the blood of corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in the lungs, liver, and internal organs, is termed tnber- cles ; in the glands, swellings; and on the surface, eruptions cr sores. This ul corruption, which genders in the blood, depresses the energies of life, so that scrofulous constitutions not only suffer from scrofulous complaints, but they have far less power to withstand chs attacks of other diseases; con- sequently, vast numbers perish by disorders which, although not scrofulous in their nature, are still ren- dered fatal by this taint in the system. Most of the consumption which decimates the human family has its origin directly in this scrofulous contamina- tion; and many destructive diseases of the liver, kidneys, brain, and, indeed, of all the organs, arise from or are aggravated by the same cause,
