It may be »aid that there is « special obdur- acy in the Hebrew heart, ond that all effort speat upom them is wasted. This is not so. The iron hardness is admitted; but multitudes of them have accepted Christ. There is a power in the Gospel than can and does break down all opposition; and that which saved our fathers and aaves us shall ultimately overleap all the barriers of Jewish prejudice. The de generacy of national character, the incrust- ation of selfish worldiness shall not prevent it; but in dee sorrow for the great wrong they did to the crucified ‘‘they shall look upon Him whom they have pierced and mourn as ope mourneth for an only son,” aad in the great day when the nations shall go up for the coronation of the Saviour there shall be the Jews, eldest born of the world’s aristocracies, with an ancestry which dates before parch- ments; foremost tv bow the knee, foremout to lift the song, foremost te win the world to Cbrist, foremost to ‘‘ bring forth the royal diadem and crown Him Lord of all.”

A Suggestion.

Sixn,—As there is no provision made in the estimates, tabled by the Leader of the Government for election purposes, I pre- sume it is their intention to bring down and submit supplementary estimates. And if my surmise ia correct, 1 would suggest that they include in them a small subsidy for the Charlottetown and P. E. Island Hospitals, establishments which are a credit to the Province, and which are struggling hard to hold their own. And as 1 see ample prevision has been made for the poor and insane, I feel quite satisfied that no tangible objection would be made by apy ress nable man if a small sum were voted t» relieve the sufferings of the sick and afflicted both in city and country.
