It is my opinion that the Student (him, which represents the interest of the students, should pressure the admu’nistraticn into stopwaiting for a veterinary college and develop the university for the benefit of the stuénts. I also feel the Student Unicn should pmssure the university to get more support frun the government in order to keep fees down as may from student loans and jobs are not increasing.
The Student Unim building which is now used mainly for Pig and Whistles should be used more. I propose to do‘this by having more events and dropping prices. By having more events at a smaller price there would be more attendance and no ' loss in profit. It is using up a large part of your Student Ihion fees so the students should be using it. The Barn should also be available for use other than licensed events. The Barn should be utilized in order to get the worth out of it.
It is my opinion that CINN in its present state is not serving the university cmmmity. I feel if it is not corrected and reorganized it should be scrapped until it can do the job it is designed to do. In its present state it is an mnecessary expenditure.

Good day to everyone. I am a 3rd year student of Business and Public I am running for the Vice- president's position because I am convinced that I haVe all the constituticn demands for, and more to serve you well.
The ccnstituticn has three main duties for the Vice-president. I wish to state these duties and my experiences, and then solicit your vote.
'Ihe Vice-President shall: Duty 1 - Be responsible for the co-ordination of
the activities of the mim's sub-organizations; Experience: Served (In several Senate and Students [hion Ommittees. Even served m the Senate Nominating Committee. Was the chairperson of my
High School social committee for two years.
mty 2 - Be a member of the Senate and assure the duties of the president in his (her) absence. Experience: Sat (11 Senate all through last year until now. Missed nme of the 15 meetings held during my term. Spoke out for the students. Was the head Prefect in my High School of about 1600 students.

last April. Still in con- tact with such regional and national organizatims as OPS (Outario Federation of Students)L'Anege (for Quebec), AFC (Alberta), AUCIZ, (Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, etc. I will be glad to continue this job.
In addition, I wish to pursue these policies.

4) Encourage more students
involvement in S.U.
activities.
5) Subsidize cost of

6) Undertake a study to reduce the very high cost of text books.

Sharm Timmcns I'm Sharm Timmons, a 3rd year Business student
seeking the positicn of vice—president of UPEISU. I feel that the most important respmsibility of the vice-president is to establish the comm- ittees and sub—organizat- icns which are the main contact between the Student Union and the stumbnts. It is extremely important that this liaison with the students is maintained and managed effectively, and it is my goal to see that this is achieved-
For the past year and a half I have been an active (non-voting) member of Council as recording secretary. While holding this positim I have been able to objectively observe the matters discussed at Council meetings.
As for my involvement in the committees and sub- organizaticns of the S.U., for the past year I have served as social committee chairman, co-chairman of Fall Fest and co—chairman of Winter Carnival. By holding these positions I feel that I am extremely knovledgeable in the running of the major sub—organizations of the Student Union.
The other positims I have held are assistant chief of Campus Police and House President of Bernadine Hall. The classes and the other clubs I have been involved with .give me an overall under- standing and ability to hold the position of vice-president.
firing the past year I have spent a lot of time in the Student Union office daserving the actims and decisions made by the executive members. By doing this I have gained an insight into how the executive works.
