S. the President of Convention Mr. Earl Jelly B.A. of Oil..cary will preside.

The C. G. l. T. of the O'l.eary United Church have contributed 85.00 to the Manitoba Flood Relief. The girls mid their lenders. Mrs. W. G. Dickson and Mrs. Herbert Vatcher enjoyed a very successful social and welner roast on Monday evening May zelh at tho home oi Mrs, Vatchcr. Games and contests were cnjoycd and the girls all had a fine time.

The Brae United Church Young Peoples Union of the United Church held a very enjoyable Social at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Mac- Phec of Brno on Monday night, May 29th. water there was little that could be done, except to watch the home! that the fire should not catch them. There was little wind blowing and that helped the fire-fighters. Later on Saturday it appeared that the fire had burned itself out.

His many friends were delighted to hear Rev. Andrew Cone of Elms- daie, P. E. I. about nine miles from O'Leary. give his testimony on "The Light of Life" Hour over Monctou station on Saturday evening May 2'lth and also sing a grand Gosptl number. Rev. Mr. Cone is a trained singer and is possesser of a fine voice and he uses it to advantage in the service of the Master. He hzis been conducting revival service in the Nazarene Church near Moncton. About the last of June-Rev. Alr- Cone will leave Elmsdale where he

A forest fire which broke out about 11.45 am. on Sunday morning May 28th back oi the home of Mr. Wesley Dignan of Bloomfield. for a time looked quite scrlous air. thrcutcncd the woodlots of Mr Diglian. also that of Mr. Rcszlni-lid MaCAuslalld and othcrs. A phone call to o'l..eaiy for men soon had a number on the scene which with the hclp of volunteers from Bindin- flcld and district kcpt thc fire irirn spreading very much, but it -was ul- most 3.30 p.m. before the tired iind thirsty flrefffhters could come in with the nssurnnce thilt the fire was out. The R. C. M. P. from Albcrtun were on the scene and helped to direct the fighters.

Oil Saturday May 2'Ith Mr. John Webb of Bloomfield celebrated his ninety-second birthday. His family. children and gr'ind-children and great grand-cliildnrn visited him mid extended hearty congrntulntions and expressed the prayer that God in His infinite mercy may allow him to see other hBi)PY birthdays. He has fairly good eyesight and hearing and delights to have visitors and friends come to see him His great hobby is his beautiful flower garden and his lovely lawn His flower garden is a large on: extending all along the fence which enclosed his lawn. Nclzhhors and oven passing tourists have stopped to compliment Mr. Webb on his beautiful garden.

Mrs. Mary L. Ellis celebrated her 86th birthday on Sunday, May 28th at the home of her son. Mr. Charles Hills of Knutsicrd. This grand old lady has a family of six children who with their wives and husbands were all present. she cri- joys very WM hcalth cxcept for her eyesight which is slightly im- paired. She helps everyday with the work and loves to niakc quilts. fancy-work etc. Besides her six children Mrs. Ellis has also twenty grandchildren and twenty-four grca: grandchildren, to all of whom she delights to visit. She was born in Springfield the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert England. A sumptuous lunch was served by the hostess ofter which ice cream slid .1 beautiful birthday cake was served. She also received lovely gifts sml cords of good wishes and her frlenils and loved ones all depart:-d to their homes wishing the guest of honor God's richest blessings and express- ing the hope that she may be spared to enjoy many more happy birthdays.
