Ford Plans Smaller Car

TORONTO (CP)—Shareholders of Ford Motor Company of Can- ada Limited were told Tuesday the company has made preliml- nary moves towavds possible pro- duction of, a smaller-sized econ- omy car in Canada.

President Rhys M. Sale told the annual meeting the move would depend on whether and when “‘such a car is placed in production by Ford Motor Com- pany in the United States and providing market conditions and other circumstances at that time justify production in Canada.”

The U.S. company announced plans last week to introduce a small economy car during, the 1960 model year. :
