EASTER MEETINGS.

&T. PETER’s CHURCH.

The annual meeting of the congregation was held last evening, Rev. James Simpson M. A. Priest locumbent intheebair. Mr. F. W. A. Carvell was appointed Secretary. Reports submitted show a cunsiderable improvement in the church finances. At the end of the present year the total church debt amounted to $4197,06; atihe end of jast vear, $465,24; or if credit be taken for various balances in favor: f the trust fund:, to only $200.66. The enlargement ana improvement of the echool building, cost~ ing $1371,48 hae all been paid for. | The total amount raised by and in connection with ihe congregation, last year was $5,442 78—a rum which we think reflects bigh credit upon the, clergy church wardens, and cengregation. Tie number of families in the congregation is reported to be 101 ; the number o1 indivi- duals 440. The thanks of the congrega- tion were unanimously voted tothe Church Wardens and Treasurer, (Mr. L. W. Watson) and also to tbe Entertainment Commitee by whom $370.09 were raised to pay tor improvements in the Sctool room. The Secretary was also directed to convey an expression of theeympathy of the congregation with the congregation of Se. James’ Charch iu respect to the destruc- tron of their property by fire.

The following gentlemen were elected to reprerent the church at the Diocesan Synod, viz: H. J. Cundail and R. R. Fitzgerald ; substitutes , A. B. Warburton and Charles Palmer.

The following were elected delegates to the Church Convention of P. E. Island: R. R. Fitzgerald, A. B ¢Warburion, Percy Pope and F. L. Haezard. i

A committee consisting of Horace Haezard, Thomas W. May and H: James Palmer, was appointed to examine as to the b«st position of the organ and report to the Vestry.

The thanke of the meeting were tendered to Mr. T. W. May for nis services in grad- ing the grounds about the church ; also to the choir and ail who have sssisied the choir in the past year.
