Last month she again complained of her eyes, and another trip to St. Louis was planned, but temporarily given up. Os the 23rd of April, while Mr. and Mrs. Wear were away from home, tke young lady left, after making pains— taking preparations for the departure. She wrote and had mailed three letters. One of these was to a triend, and read as follows: —

“1 leave to-night. I cannot wait for your opinion. I hope your prayers will fallow my wandering feet. I will not have time to find Mrs. M If you see - her tell her I long to see heronce again. Iwish Icould lay my head onthe shoulder of seme of these blessed friends I am leaving behind, if but fer one moment. Pray for me; 1 know your petitions will be heard. Good-bye, good-bye.

There was no signature ; but asimple dash of the pen. In another of the letters she told a friend how tired she was of Poplar Bluft, and how she lenged to get away: The destination of the third letter has not been learned.

THE DEPARTURE PILANNED.

She selected her clothing with care, laying aside her party dresses,and some trinkets. Witha well filled trunk she left Poplar Bluff on the night train, No difficulty was feund in traeing her movements for 24 hours. She reached the Union Depot on the morning of the 24th of April, and leaving her trunk, went to Hotel Barnum, where the family usually stopped when in the city, and took aroom. Afier making her toilet she went Out into the city and visited a friend, Mrs. Mitehell. While there she seemed excitable, and laughed and cried in turns. In the afternoon she went away, saying she hadto take the train at 8.30, The train for Poplar Bluff leaves at nine. A little after 7 o'clock she appeared at the hotel, paid her bill and went away,

The Rev. Z. P. Wilds, well-known city missionary in New York, and brother of the late eminent Judge Wilds, of the Massachuseita Supreme Court, writes as follows:
