CADRE: We understand that you were invited to the banquet at which the presentation was made, but that you did not go, why? ’
KEAVENY: When the students elected repre- sentatives I am sure that they did] not elect them to give away their funds to the administration, and sponsor a banquet to make the sell-out formal. If there is one student who condones the purchase of roast beef dinners and all the booze the elite repre— sentatives of the students and the university admin- istration can drink, let him come forward. Who in the hell ever heard of student representatives of any university or high student student body handing over all their funds to the administration and then sponsoring a big bash to tell the world about it —- man that is just completely unheard of. I happened to ask ed .hilton about the orgy-like banquet, he said, and I quote, “It was just a gathering to have social intercourse.” I asked if there was lots of booze he said, “I had a couple of beers”. In jest 'he asked me if I would like a glossy photo of the presentation.
CADRE: Are you aware that an athletic fee is anticipated for next year?
_ KEAVENY: ‘I am told that the fee- will be about ten dollars. If that is correct, the student body will pay an extra 18,000 in addition to the 210,000 tui- tion and] residence hikes. ' It is pretty bad when student reps give an added 32,000 to a. body which is already shafting the students fo ralmost a. quar- ter of a million dollars in fee increases; This entire matter is a complete shaft to the students and the SDUSU decision is an overt sell-out.
CADRE : What was your reaction to the recent decision reached by the SDUSU concerning the $32,000 in assets? '
KEAVENY : The decision completely nauseates me and in my opinion reaks of irresponsibility and overt gross mus-use of student funds. The decision constitutes an incredible betrayal of former SDU students, and I as a former SDU student feel be- trayed. According to the mini-survey taken by the CADRE. very, very few or the students support the decision. .

KEAVENY: I would start a petition to have the money returned to the SDUSU executive for a further review of the alternatives. This time I feel
that the former students of SDU should be con-
suited.
CADRE: What do you think of the procedure by which the decision was reached.
KEAVENY: I feel that the procedure was ac- ceptable, but as I have already stated, the former students of SDU should have been consulted. That is a must.

Although the U. of Toronto Blues captured the National University hockey title the hearts of the majority in attendance were with the SMU Huskies. Playing their third! game in: as many nights and
down 2—0 after two periods, the MIHL representa-
tives fought gamer in the third to come within .a whisker of bringing the national title to Atlant1c Canada.
The reason. why SMU was one of two teams scheduled to play 3 consecutive games, in compar- ison to two for the others, has not yet been. validi- fied. However, it has been rumoured game draws were influenced by last years. tournament standings. Just what justification pennitted last years results to lend) a hand in compiling this years draw is. be- yond me. Should this report have any truth, I sug- gest the Canadian Intercollegiate Hockey Assocla- tion take a conscientious look into its operation and hang its head in shame for continuing its “Euro- pean type” antics against Maritime clubs.
True the varsity Blues is an exceptionally fine hockey squad but one questions the outcome had St. Mary’s an extra day of’rest or Toronto one less.
Switching to curling the UPEI women’s rink recorded a 4-1 (win-loss) mark and won the Atlan tic Women’s winter Collegiate Curlmg title in Hall- fax last weekend. Skipped by Barb Mores1dle this rink represents the first athletic team to capture

KEAVENY: ’Without a doubt.
CADRE: Why do you think they considered the Hall of Fame a part of the rink instead of the student union building?
KEAVENY: The SDU reps obviously felt that the hall of fame should be located in the most re- moved, isolated and inappropriate location as was possible, the probably felt the rink which is gen— erally locked in the summer, below zero in the win- ter, and dripping wet in the fall and spring would keep people from seeing the monstrosity that they built with student money. They obviously did not want people to see it.

top honors for the University in its short history. Even more notable is the fact that only one member of the team “has played more than one year. That member is skip Moreside with two years. Her mates are all 1st year players. The remaining members are: Frances Whitlmk mate, Joanne Stewart 2nd stone; Susan O’Neil, 1st stone; Cathy MacKinnon, spare, and Bob LeClair coach. Congratulations girls, you too Bob.
Continuing with curling the men’s rink show- ed strongly in the Atlantic Inter-Collegiate Athletic Conference Curling Championship held in Wolfville two weekends ago. At the conclusion of the two day round robin, UPEI was locked in a first place tie, with Acadia and; St. Thomas each boasting 6-2 records. A playoff held to decide a winner saw UPEI drop out of contention, due to a 7-3 loss to STU. Acadia eventually won the championship by downing the Tommies 6-1. Members of the UPEI team are Keith. MacEachern, skip Ted Archer, mate; Dave Kassner, 2nd; Dave Lipton, 1st; and coach Bob LeClair.
Intramural playoff’s are in full swing at the University rink and gym. Those involvedE are re- minded that game schedules are posted in the usual places, particularly the coffee shop.
