Banned For Food
COPENHAGEN, Denmark ‘AP) — The use of rainwater fer drinking and food - prepara- tion purposes has been banned on the island of Saltholm a‘ter studies showed “‘a heavy increase of radioactivity” in the water.
The island, measuring some eight square miles, is situated ezst of Copenhagen. There are only a dozen permanent residents but in the summer. thousands of tourists go there. ;
At present, there is no other drinking water than rainwater. The Taarnby municipality, which issued the ban, js planning to transport drinking water to*Salt-

-Mrs, Charlies MacWilliams ‘read the comment, closing prayer was by Mrs. Oliver Cos- tain. Additional readings were taken from Isaiah 55, Psalm, 4, Ezchiel 39-8. Matthew 5th chap- ter. prayed Mrs. Otis MacKinnon.
Mrs. Irma Stewart received a fetter from Mrs. Stanley Thomp- gon, corresponding secretary for P.E.J. Roll call was answered by nine members. Four quilt tops were passed in by Mrs. Charles MacWilliams which she made up and which are to be quilted in the near future.
Offering was received. The friendship secretary's report con- sisted of six home visits 15 hos- pital calls, 20 get-well cards and letters. 15 sympathy cards, two baby ecards and two bouquets.
