Both Ferries To Retain Adequate Crew Complement

OTTAWA July 17- lSpecial)-—- Promotions from among the crew of the present car ferry "Prince Edward Island" are expected after the new "Abegwelt" goes into ser- vice on the Borden-Tormentine run, 1t was stated this morning at the Ottawa. offices of the Depart- ment of Transport.

“Since the ‘Albegwelt’ will be in 24-hour service, we w-lll require two captains constantly on board", a. ranking official told The Guar- dian today. “We expect that these two Captains will be Captain McGuire who was designated as commander 0f the vessel and who was with her at the christening at Sorel on June 28. and Captain Albert Jay who is experienced in operating the ferry."
