Clark, chairman of the Electric Light Committee. said “‘as most of the area where the Summer- side Electric Light Utility operates has previously been serviced there was very little construction in the year - 1958. There was a normal increase in the number of customers in bo’h rural and urban areas.“ The number of kilowatt hours gen- erated was 3,39.960 purchased 6,889,240, for a total of 10,291,- 200, an increase of 4.45 percent over 1957. 67.04 percent was the percentage purchased in 1958 as compared to 65.5 percent in 1957.
Peak load registered for the year was 2680 KW, which load occurred December 22nd at 5.30 p.m. This was 210 KW or 8.5 percent than the previous year.
