Thete was w jarye congregation at the Convent of Notre Dame this morning to withesa = marriage of Mr. J. J. Hornby, thej\popular representative in this province of Robert ee & Co, Halifax, and Mise May C Hornsby, daughter of the late Mr. Oswald Horneby, of Charlottetown. The chapel of the convent, in which the im- pressive ‘ceremony was performed, was prettily decorated with flowers and potted plante.

His Loréthip Bishop Macdonald was the officiating clergyman, assisted by Keve. Dr. Monaghan and Father Connolly. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Bertha Hormeby, and the groom was ober by mp sae W. Reddin.

The bride, who was given away by her bret_er, dir. Frank J Hornsby, looked charmiog in & travelling gown of grey homespun, trimmed with bands and ape plique of French grey broadcloth having large collar and revere of white satin overlaid with Jace rolling back frem a vest of white satin with jabot of lace. Her turban of French broadcloth matched the gown and she carried an exquisite Louquet.

The bridesmaid’s drees was of white or- gandie trimmed with valenciennes Jace aod ribton with large fichu of monselline de goie. She wore a picture hat of black chiffon and carried an elegant bonquet.

During the céremony and thé puptial mass which followed choice music was provided hy the choir of the Convent aa» sisted by Miss Josie Smith whe rendered twe solos in her usus! excellent manner. Sister St. Ovide, who presided at the organ, played the wedding march and other celections with much skill.

After the nuptial mags the bridal party and about fifty invited guesta were enter- tained at luncheon in the con vent, at the conclusion of which Mr. and Mre. MHornby took the west-bound train on their honeymoon trip which will includea three months’ sojourn inthe Old Country. The best wishes of a host of friends go with them.

The great number of valuable presente received by the bride indicate the esteem in which the happy young couple are held.

At St Dunstan’s Cathedral, at 8 o'clock this morning, the marriage of Mr. M.J. Foley,of Souris,and Miss Clementine Mac» donald, of the same place, was celebrated, the offic‘ating clergyman being father Connolly, of the cathedral staff, The bride was attended by Misa Nellie Robin, and the groom was eupported by Coun- cillor Macdonald. After the ceremony the bridal party partook of breakfast at the Hote] Davies. Mr. and Mra, Foley go to Summerside this afternoon where tney will remain a few days before re« turning to Souris. The happy couple have the test wishes of all by whom they are known.

A large and enthusiastic meetiog of the electors of Georgetown and Royalty was held in the fown Hall last night. Wm. McConnell, E-q., wae elected chairman and the undersigned secretary.

Able addresses were de!lvered by A. C. McDonald, M. P., Hon. D. Gordon, Leader of the Local Opposition, Hon. A. J. McDonald, M. L. A., and others. On motion of E. H. McEactern, eeconded by E. B. McLaren, it was resolved to form a Young Men’s Liberal-Conservative Clud. Oo motion of H. J. McPhee, seconded by Sullivan Henry it was resolved that the name be known as the Georgetown T uj.per Club.
