A despatch to the London Daily News from Constantinople states that the re- ports of the Armenian outrages are cou- firmed from various sources. A Dazzarist priest from Van says in an interview that he has not been able to discover the cause of the massacres at Sassoun. He believes that the victims pumbe ed 2,000, and that the regular troops were the murderers and violators. The despatch adds that since the Sultan invited President Cleveland to send a delegate with the Armenian coni- mission, he has requested General Blunt Pasha to go to Bitlis on a similar errand. General Blunt’s health, however, prevents him from accepting the invitation,

The Missions Catholiques at Lyons has received a letter from Monsignor Mutel, addressed from Seoul, the capital of Corea, announcing that all the French mmission- aries in Corea, after great hardships, have succeeded in reaching Seoul. The letter adds that all the christian villages in Corea have been pillaged and burned, and num- bers of christians have been massacred.

As the east bound Texas and Pacific pas- senger train was nearing Mary’s Creek, eight miles west of Fort Worth Texas, on the evening of the 7th, it was brought to a atandstill by a danger signal displayed on the trestle. The engineer was covered by three men who boarded the cab and order- ed the train to be backed up half a mile. Then the fireman was covered and ordered to break in the express door. He refused, bnt after the robbers fired several shots he burst in the door with a pick One of the robbers then kept the fireman and engineer covered while others wert into the express coach. Fort Worth is the end of the ex- press run and the sefe door was open. One of the robbers rifled the safe while othere kept guard over the messenger. Twenty minutes later the train was in Fort Worth. The exact amount the men secured is not yet known, but it is said to have been near $40,000 in money, gold bullion en route from San Faancisco to Washington and Texas Pacifi: checks.

Tae legislature of Quebec has given the xix months’ hoist toa resolution reducing the sessional allowance from $800 to $600. The leader of the government aad the leader of the Oposition both voted against the hoist, but the majority of therr follow- ers placed a bigher estimate on the value of their services to the province.
