I met some really great friends up there. The film crew, Barry, Gary, Ralph, Donna and Helen, were a few to mention. It was a great life. The viewing of tapes, the conversations on the be- havior of the interviewees, the mechanics involved and the supper which follwed made for a truly unique and won- derful experience. On the se- cond day there were intervi— ews and talking; it was es— pecially interesting to hear WilsOn Shaw talk with pride (and rightfully so) of their community and their closeness with each other. Each argu - ment seemed to me to ask the

Filming Gives Great Times in Tignish
pride when he talked of this one room school house. Their culture has the right to be really respected.
A130 that day we had the luck of meeting some students from Haiti. Their life style— songs, stories: dances, music, and info were just fascinat-l ing. They spoke of their want to be individuals in society and their want to learn. Jim, their leader, led me into a beautiful conversation on the meaning of "Cultural under— standing". He proved to me in my mind that there is a need to understand that people
from different cultures also have different ways of think— ing, each right in its own way.
We made some friends at the Tignish Legion while the film crew were shooting. It proved to be a fine time because of the friendliness and modes of behavior of many of the peo—' ple. Waving at the camera was common and with free admiss- ion and the ever—present beer it became quite an entertain- ing and interesting time, meeting these new friends
