"Yes .. at least. with Nancy. Mrs. Winterton. It's the same thing, isn't. it? But Nancy is my friend; we were girls together. i hardly know him." The encore had been conceded and they were dancing again.

"It'll the other way round with me." said Roy. "I never. met Mrs. Winterton till tonight. In fact. I've only come across-him in the way of business."
