-—Y'S MEN'S CLUB MEETING — iThe regular meeting of the Sum- merside Y's Men's Club was held on Thursday evening with Mr. Lloyd Gorrill in the chair. Guests were: Dr. H. E. Clark, Harold Rodd, and Roy Daye. Mr. Rodd and Mr. Daye were both proposed as new members. Mr, H. T. Holman, Jr.. reported that the work on the mobile X-ray clinic was progrcss- ing satisfactorily. He also report- ed that recelpts on the Tuber- culosis Seal Sale compaign amount- ed to $1,772.82 with some yet to come in. A vote of thanks express- ing appreciation to Miss Jean

and Mrs. Robert Coulson for their assistance in the campaign was passed. At this meeting three new members were inducted. The; are: William Brennan, Ross MacKonzie and Fred Bingham. The induction service was conducted by Mr W. A. Currie. The new members made

Reports of the first fur auction hold in London since the outbreukl of war have been received by cable m the Prince Edward Island Fur Pool Lid., Summerside, from the Hudson's Bav C0.. Lid. of London,‘ England. The pelts offered were, mostly stale ones from preiioui year's skins of Scandivanian origin.

The better colors sold Wei at 10 per cent over previous prevail- ing London prices. Faded skins, especially full silver, were difficult . The average prices u ere as . Slightly faded quarter silvers $32.89; half-silvers $42.93: three-quarter silvers $37.91; iver $40.36. Faded skins: quarter-sil- ver C1'l.i1' half-silver $23.42; three- quarter slivers $25.14: silver $24.86: seconds, low grade, $10.48. The col- lection was 50 per cent sold.

There were 1,200 olatinums of- fered but owing to lack of inten- est only l6 per cent were aold.

Mr. P. G. Clarke said that the Prince Edward Island Fur Pool had a small shipment of oelts at the auction with Anning Chadwick and Kiver Ltd.. and they were '75 per cent sold at prices fully in lln with the December auctions at ontreal. ‘
