Mrs. John Stetson. Mrs. ELindsay, California, Mrs. Albert Newman. Kingston. The pail bearers were W. G. Gibson, A. A. McBeth, Alex. Stewart, Eddie Vessey, W. E. Warren, Herbert Thompson. Rev. Minister of Marine and Fisheries has sailed from Gespe Harbour aboard Iody Gray noon time on Sunday and expects to reach Charlottetown Monday forenoon around nine o'clock. Hon. Mr. Duranleau is vis- iting the ports of Eastern Canada to get first hand information. He also intends io get in touch with the fishermen to acquaint himself with their needs.

The community of Bcdeque and citizens of Summersl’ were shock- ed to learn ozrMonday morning of the sudden passing of Dr. Albert, D. Sharp at the comparatively early age of 4'1 years. -Dr. Sharp passed away at 4.45 a. m. Monday, less than- 24 hours after Dr. Glliis, of Kenslng- ton had passed away.

Dr. Sharp had a heart attack a- bout two weeks ago, but had recov- ered and was feeling quite well on Sunday. l-Ie was born in Summer- slde, the son of the late John A. Sharp and Mrs. Sharp. He was ed- ucated at the Summerslde High School and later at Acadia Univer- sity. I-Ic afterwards went to McGlll University, where he took his Medi- cal Degree. At the outbreak of the Great war he went with the McGill Medical unirfto the front. Later he joined the Imperial Royal Army Medical Corps. and served with that unit until the close of the war. He was mentioned in u atches several times and on April 9, 191'i, received the Military Cross “for gallant and distinguished bravery in the field," having been mentioned in a dis- patch by Field Marshal Sir D0118- las Haig for this special honour.

In 1911 he was appointed Dis- trict sales engineer for C. G. B., and Associated Companies on the Calgary District. l-ie has also been assistant to A‘. P. Homer former District Manager.

He is past president of the Al- berta Association of rrofessional lmgineers and former chairman ofl the Calgary Branch of the Engine- ering Instiiute of Canada.

In order to enable Colonel Macphail to make connection with the Ocean Limited the train was held for about ten minutes to accommodate him.

Banff, Monday morning at 8.30 o'clock, when Susie Agnes Mc- Cooi of Calgary became the bride of Mr. John Edgar Hogg of Cal- gary. Rev. Father Arthur Ander- son of Calgary oiIiciated at the ceremony. At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridal party adjourn- ed. to the Homestead Tavern, where the wedding breakfast was served, covers being laid for twenty-four guests. For traveling the bride wore a smart white suit with matching coat. After a honeymoon spent at Wlndermere, and other mountain resorts Mr. and Mrs. Hogg will re- side in Calgary. ..—THE FUNERAL SERVICES for Dr. AlbertD. Sharp were-held on Wednesday afternoon from his late residence in Bedeque. Friends from all parts of the Province attendedn besides members of the medical profession from the east and west. Rev. Mr. Archibald, pastor of the United Church at Bedeque was in charge of the funeral and deliver- ed the address, in which he refer- red to the great loss to the oom- munity of such a. man as Dr. Sharp, who was skilled in his pro- fession and a man whose place would be hard to fill. He also re- ferred to his splendid record dur- ing active service in the Great War bringing the reward of the Military Cross. Rev. Mr. Crowo read the scripture lesson, and Rev. C. J. St. Clair Jeans and Rev. J. W. Nichol- son offered prayer. Rev. Mr. Archi- bald sang by special request, "Face to Face." The house was filled to capacity for the service and for some distance cars lined each side of the road. Members of the Can- adian Legion were present; also members of the Masonic Iodge. In- terment was in the People's Cem- etery. Summer-side. A large number of cars followed the funeral cortege to the grave. The pallbearers were Dr. J. C. Simpson, Mr. Heath Strong, K.C., M.LA.. —SUFFERS INJURY —- Friends will regret to hear that Mrs. E. J. Hallett, of Summerside, had the misfortune to break her leg when she fell down the cellar steps on» Monday afternoon. Mr. Percy Ll Bowness took her to the hospital where her leg was set. She is now resting quite comfortably, although she will be confined to her couch‘ for some days-S.

I933. at Boswell, when Miss Bessie Florence Bruce, daughter of Robert and Mrs. Bruce. was united in mar- riage to Mr. Charles Haldane Ching. Red Point. The ceremony was per- formed by Rev. B. R. Bell in the presence of many friends and rela- tives. the bridesmaid being Miss Hazel Rose. and best man Mr. Clay- ton Rose.
