The Minister of Marine and Fisheries has given notice of the introduction of a bill respecting the exportation of bai fishes, which will enable our Governmen: to apply to Newfoundland fishing vessels i: Canadian waters the same treatment that is appiied to Canadiav vessels in New- foundland waters. Last seasun 108 New- foundland vessels fished in Canadian Lsbea- dor waters, and took over 30,000 quintals of fish and 20,000 gallons of cil, and in addition to this six Newfoundland firms had fishing st«tions on Canadian Labr-dor, and took 20,000 quintais of fi-h and 14,000 galluns of vil Ouly nine Canadian vessels fished in Newfoundland waters last season, and they were forced to pay duty on salt and other supplies.
