The Five Year Plan played their last game of the regular intramural “B” division basketball season last Tuesday against AVC. The FYP secured one last win beating AVC by a 10 point margin. The victory was enough for the team to take sole possesion of second place going into the post season. Currently FYP’s arch nemesis, Dream Team 4, is in first place. FYP will play their first game of the playoffs this week against the Corduroy Warriors.

In other FYP news, Mr. Hands has mysteriously dissapeared. The dissapearance comes at a difficult time as the team is gearing up for its drive to the finals. Police would not comment on the dissapearance except to say that Dico Reyers has been pulled in for questioning. Reyers and Hands have had at best, a tense relastionship. Reyers would not comment on the incident as he left the police station. Instead, Reyers decided to use his limited sign language skills to tell the media what he thought. The newest person to grace the halls of the FYP Cultural Centre is fellow columnist Bawb the Ambitious News Guy. Bawb started frequenting the Centre earlier this semester and wouldn’t leave. Instead of provoking a conflict, which would go against the FYP philosophies and Rustico Budhism, Bawb has been named an honorary member.

Finally, the FYP have decided to give their seal of approval to V.P. Operations candidate Tim Willis. Acting team spokesman Dave Christian commented “Dammit, if Tim Willis can’t bring in good bands, he’ll entertain you himself.”

UPEI sports wrap up seasons

Sports fans, the UPEI

season has come to an end.

Much of the hype as of late has been focused on the redecorating tactics of the UPEI hockey team. It has highlights an important point that all fans, and athletes go through at some stage- losing bites.

The men’s hockey team finished third in the MacAdam Division with a record at home of 8-5-1, and on the read they had a 4-9-1 record. The boys unfortunately lost to STU in the playoffs; however, in the statistics for the season the boys managed to break into the top 20. Mike Harding fin- ished 12th with 18 goals and 22

assists; Todd Walker placed

15th with 20 goals and 16 as-

sists; and Daryl Lavoie placed 19th with 9 goals and 26 as- sists. Craig Johnson placed 7th in the league with a goals . against average of 7.14.

The men’s basketball team finished with a 3-17 record. The boys had a 0-10 record at home and 3 wins on the road. Mike Moore was placed 4th with an average of 18.6 points per game, and fel- low AUAA all-star Doug Newson finished in 9th place with 16.2 points per have. Greg Lucas finished third in rebound- ing with an average of 7.5 per game.

The UPEI women’s volleyball team finished their season with 1-8 record at home and a 2-5 record for the road.

9th out of 10 teams in the AUAA’s.

UPEI women’s basket- ball team finished in 6th place inthe AUAA’s this year. The home record was a steady 5-5 matched with another 5-5 for the road. Eireann Rigby made AUAA first team all-star, while Jennifer Johnson made AUAA second team all-star. Tracy Ellsworth won the coaching award for the AUAA’s as well. As for sta- tistics Jennifer Johnson had an average of 19.3 points per game (3rd), and Eirann Rigby had 17.6 (7th). Krista Connolly finished in 9th place in the rebounding category with 5.9 per game.

Well I guess that’s a wrap for the season...see you guys at the games next year!
