The con- sumcrs’ subsidy of two cents a quart on fluid milk was dropped June l and October is to see the end of other subsidies now being paid dir- ectly to ~milk producers. In the case of those dairvmen supplying the fluid market this means 55 cents a hundred pounds loss, just at a time when winter feeding must start. It is almost unthinkable that they can absorb this loss at the prcscnt time; as a matter of facl they are asking for an increase greater than the 55 cent subsidy.
